Water Baptism

 

Greek baptise = baptizó: to dip, sink

Matthew 3:11 = there is baptism of water, Holy Spirit and fire. Something amazing happened.

John 3:3 = unless we are born again we cannot be Christians.

John 3:1-5 = we can only become Christian (BORN AGAIN) when we are born of water and the Holy Spirit.

John 3:7 = the only way is to be born again.

Greek born = gennaó: to beget, to bring forth

Greek again = anóthen: from above

Born again means to beget /be born from above

John 3:31 = He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

What do you do to be born again / become a Christian.

Acts 2:37-38 = to become a Christian you have to repent and be baptise in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin then you will receive the Holy Spirit.

Mark 16:16 = Jesus says who has believe and has been baptise shall be save.

Acts 8:35 -39 = anyone who has truly accept Jesus as the son of God will be baptised. The only thing that will stop them is they do not believe in Christ with all their heart.

What is the importance of water baptism?

Matthew 3:11 = it is the first of 3 baptism every Christian must be baptised in.

Acts 13:24 = water baptism is a baptism of repentance

Acts 22:16= baptism wash away our sins.

1 peter 3:20-21 = baptism now saves us; it is an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus.

Luke 7:29-30 = by baptism of water we acknowledge Gods justice and by not baptising we reject God purpose for us.

Romans 6:3-4 = when we baptism, we are baptised into the death of Jesus so that we will rise up like Jesus into a new life.

Colossians 2:12 = we have been buried with Jesus in baptism and we have been raised up with him through faith.

Galatians 3:27> = anyone who has been baptise into Christ have cloth himself with Christ

John 1:31 = john baptise people in water so that Jesus will be manifested to Israel.

Luke 4:1 = Jesus became full of the Holy Spirit after the baptism.

Acts 2:38 = to become a Christian you have to repent and be baptise in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of sin then you will receive the Holy Spirit.

So you will notice that,

Acts 2:41 = those who received Jesus was baptised.

Acts 9:17-18 = the moment that Paul gained his sight he was baptised.

Acts 18:8 = the people believed and were baptised.

What if you have been a Christian for a long time and have not been baptised. walk

Acts 10:44/47-48 = they received the Holy spirit before baptism of water.

Acts 10;44/47-48 = though they accepted Jesus, and received the Holy Spirit, they still went on to be baptise with water

1 Corinthians 12:13 = by the Holy Spirit, all Christians have been baptised into one body (Jesus).

Acts 8:26-27/ 35-39 = Philip and the Ethiopian man

Baptism in the old testament

1 Corinthians 10:1-2 = the cloud and the red sea that the Israel people passed through were their baptism, but into Moses.

They were baptised into Moses.

1 peter 3:20-21 = baptism saved Noah

How to baptise

Mark 1:5= the people were baptised in the Jordan River as they confessing their sins.

Matthew 28:19 = Jesus said we are to baptise in the name of father, son and the Holy Spirit.

John 1:26 = John baptise with water.

John 3:22/26 = Jesus was baptising.

Matthew 28:19= not only are we to preach but also to baptised.

Galatians 3:26 = we are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
