To obey the Lord in all His ways
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
We belief: In GOD the Father, The Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. That Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth and Life That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws. That Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the third day. That Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is seated on the right hand side of GOD the Father. That Jesus Christ will come and take us back home again That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again on the third day. That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.
THE WORD OF GOD
At Devotional Light Church, The word of God is our rule. We preach and teach only that which is in the Bible. Our vision is to obey God through His word in all things.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, it is profitable for doctrine". 2 Timothy 3:16
To learn of God is to seek the knowledge that leads to life. Thus saith the Holy Book: "Myson, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; Open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; Keep them in the centre of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And healing and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22)
The Scriptures say pray without ceasing and that it is the fervent prayers of the righteous that availed much and this is what we do at Devotional Light Church during our prayer meetings.
Thoughts have power. Prayers are audible thoughts or silent language. In prayer thought and spirit unite, creating in one a force superior to human strength. No human strength can stop the power of prayer reaching the Lord. But for prayers to have effective power, they must be sent to the Lord with love.
If we do not ask, we may not get.
By asking, we may deserve to receive what almighty God from eternity is disposed to give. We must pray.
We pray to honour the Lord, and as a petition, seeking something from God, we show our humility by confessing the truth. We confess that we need the Lord. For off our own, we can do nothing. We honour God when we confess that we need him, and proclaim his almighty power to bestow blessings upon us.
But, there are different types of prayers. There are mechanical prayers, prayers through material worship and prayers from the heart, prayers from the Spirit of truth. At Devotional Light Church, we pray by the word and by the leading of the Holy Spirit with fervent prayer as the Lord commanded.
MEMBER SPIRITUAL GROWTH
At Devotional Light Church, we believe that every Christian has been called and there is a role for all to play therefore we push and train the members to serve the Lord with all their strength and heart. We provide opportunities and platforms for different ministries to flourish and we also embark on a training program to help the members make a full prove of their gifts and ministries.
We believe that without an active and compelling evangelism by a church, there is no need for the church.
The lord said, "therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit". Matthew 28:19. He also said , Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23
At Devotional Light Church the Lord has bless us with a campaign “Jesus The Answer Campaign” which we take to every street, market, town centres, etc. telling people about our master Jesus Christ to win back the unsaved, the lost, the scattered and the bruised to the Lord.
